Purchasing Spare Parts For Your AKAI Projection TV

Even though projection TV's offer some of the clearest, sharpest pictures available, that quality comes at a price.  Depending on the model that you purchase, anything from the power cable to parts within the projection unit  may burn out.  Because manufacturers already know that these items burn out quickly, they may not be covered under warranty.  As a result, you may  want to start looking now for low cost replacement parts.

Chances are, if you purchase an AKAI projection TV, you will be very pleased with its quality.  Considering the initial cost, it is also very possible that you will want to keep your television  in service for at least 10 years.  On the other hand, you may have also decided that purchasing certain replacement parts would have to wait.  As an example, you may still be looking for replacement lamps and other items to have on hand.

In some cases, you might opt to wait, believing that the cost of the replacement parts will go down in price by the time you need them.  Unfortunately, the manufacturer already knows about how long it will be before you need to start ordering items.  As a result, even though a few years may pass, it is not likely they will lower their price.

If you do some research, you may be able to locate some of the items that you want through discount or clearance outlets.  Typically, if a store is about to close, they will sell off their remaining inventory at or below acquisition cost.  As a result, you may save as much as 65 to 70% over the retail price.

Depending on the year that your AKAI projection TV was manufactured, you may also be able to find a second hand unit for sale.   As a word of caution, when reviewing these offers, it is important to try and determine how many hours the unit was running for.  Unfortunately, even if the picture still appears bright, it could change to something dimmer in a matter of days.  That said, if you only want parts on hand until you can purchase newer ones, this may be a workable option for you.

Without a question, the worst time to start looking for replacement parts for your AKAI projection TV is when something actually goes wrong.  Even if you are not interested in purchasing replacement parts immediately, it would be best to keep a list onhand of parts vendors.  In this way, you can check in on a regular basis, and see if there are any sales on items that you may be looking for.

As may be expected, the last thing you will want to do is have problems with your TVs, and wind up using them for plant stands.   Even if you have to send your AKAI projection TV out for repairs, it may be of some help to have replacement parts on hand.  At the very least, it will help defray the total cost of being able to use your TV for its original purpose.
